Talas Ali Saip Pasha Street

According to available sources, the establishment of today's Talas dates back to the 11th century. However, as it can be clearly seen on the paintings, figures and writings in the caves which situate in the area called Derevenk, about 1 km east of Talas, it is understood that many churches and monasteries were built in the first centuries of Christ, and this region was a Christian center. In the 19th century, it became an important center where Turks, Greeks and Armenians lived together.
